F3 Kabale, Uganda and Designs For Hope Leadership
WHAT?
Downrange Kilimanjaro is a challenge for the men of F3 Nation to “leave no man behind” as we summit Mount Kilimanjaro. We are looking for up to 20 F3 PAX that will follow the 7-day trip up the Machame route on Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest peak on the continent of Africa. The 62 kilometers hike will take us to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro at 19,341 feet above sea level.
There are few places like Mount Kilimanjaro in the world. It lies within the Kilimanjaro National Park, one of the few places on earth that encompass every ecological life zone: savannah, tropical jungle, desert, montane forest, and alpine zone.
WHY?
Downrange Kilimanjaro is a unique fundraiser birthed by a group of F3 PAX in Alabama. Our day job is serving the church in the developing world by meeting the physical and spiritual needs of leaders and communities. This journey has taken us across the globe and has allowed us to build friendships with many amazing people including F3 PAX in Kenya and Uganda. We want you to join us for this once-in-a-lifetime adventure which will include Fitness, Fellowship, and Faith that will build a community of friendship while providing life-saving resources for communities across 6 African countries including the areas in Africa where our F3 brothers live, work, and serve.
WHEN?
Travel dates are October 19th to October 31st. The climb begins on October 22nd and will take seven days to ascend and descend. All climbers will need to arrive in Arusha no later than October 20th.
HOW MUCH?
Each climber is responsible for their own airfare (estimated at $2,000); however, If you advocate and fundraise, Designs For Hope will sponsor your climb! In order to be sponsored by Designs For Hope For the Downrange Kilimanjaro, each climber commits to raising a minimum of $15,000 based on our fundraising guide. The funding you raise will be used to provide clean water, solar power, and other tangible resources to communities across eastern Africa, including communities where F3 PAX lives, work, and serve.

Your involvement in the Downrange Kilimanjaro fundraiser will support Designs For Hope projects in 6 African countries, including the communities of F3 PAX in Uganda and Kenya. Projects include, but are not limited to:

Clean Water Projects in Kabale, Uganda (with F3 Pioneer)
Clean Water Well in Soroti, Uganda
Clean Water Wells in Northern Ethiopia
Clean Water Wells in Karamoja, Uganda
Sports Clinics and Supplies
Solar Power for Churches, Schools, and Hospitals
Pastoral Training and Certification

DESIGNS FOR HOPE + F3 = FITNESS, FELLOWSHIP, FAITH, & FREEDOM
Designs For Hope exists to equip and empower the global church in the developing world. We design and deliver innovative solutions to the physical and spiritual needs of disciple-makers, empowering them to ignite their communities with the gospel of Jesus Christ. In a sense, we are freeing local leaders…to lead. In order for Africa to stand on its own, it’s leaders must first stand on their own.
F3 is accomplishing a similar goal of freeing men to lead. There is one undeniable truth; Men need authentic relationships with other men who are working to be strong fathers, husbands, and leaders. We have the opportunity to change our community and the trajectory of our families. Getting in the best shape of your life is just a by-product. The workout is what draws most men like a magnet but the relationships, brotherhood, and community keep men coming back in order to accomplish the mission of the invigoration of male community leadership.
In both Designs For Hope and F3, we know that doing “hard things” is what makes us who we are! There is a camaraderie in the shared suffering that builds a unique bond of a leader. That’s why we are partnering together to raise awareness and fund projects that empower leaders across Africa. Together, we will climb Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest peak in Africa, and provide lifesaving tools, like clean water and sustainable electricity, for partners in Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Ethiopia, Rwanda, and Malawai.
The motto of F3 is, “leave no man behind, but leave no man where you find him,” This motto rings true in the mission and vision of Designs For Hope, where we constantly journey into some of the most impoverished areas of the world.
