DOWNRANGE KILIMANJARO
FAQs
Is this an F3-sponsored event?
The motto of F3 is, “Freed to Lead”. As F3 PAX, we know how much the F3 Nation gets behind hard, physical activities, fellowship among F3 peers (no matter where you see them), and the call to make this world a better place. While F3 Nation is not officially sponsoring the event, the leadership is excited about the opportunity. As Lee and Chris finished an F3 boot camp in Uganda, the idea of inviting F3 PAX on a journey like this was birthed and fleshed out…and here we are!
I’m worried about the fundraising. Do you offer any assistance?
We have found that including others in your fundraising commitment is a very rewarding and community-building experience, and we encourage you to let others know what you’re doing! Designs For Hope will help you through the fundraising process and provide a personalized fundraising webpage where you can track online donations and send emails to supporters. In addition, Designs For Hope will provide climbers with a social media asset package to help further spread the word to those who may be able to help you fundraise. We are also available to provide more ideas and support for fundraising along the way. Ultimately, however, the commitment and responsibility is yours. This commitment helps us plan with confidence for the villages we serve and ensure meaningful engagement from each participant on the expedition.
Is Mount Kilimanjaro a technical climb?
No technical skills are required, and there is no prior climbing experience needed. However, this is not an average hike and we do recommend training.
How do I physically prepare for Kilimanjaro?
Being in F3 is a big start. Your dedication to fitness is more than likely evident in the boot camps you participate in. However, we have a Fitness Program that we can suggest to help ensure your conditioning prior to taking your journey on the mountain.
Do I need traveler’s Insurance?
Yes! We will cover this along with all the other travel needs, including required vaccinations, visas, etc. with you before you go. We want you to have a blast and bring home positive memories from your trek.
What airport do I fly into?
We will be flying into Kilimanjaro International Airport (Airport code: KIA). We will have a shuttle for those who are a part of our team both to and from the airport.
Is there an opportunity to participate in a safari?
Yes! This is an added expense and time commitment that some will want to add to this already epic trip. If you want to participate in the Safari, just let us know and we will make the accommodations.
