Kimose Water Well

In March 2021, Designs For Hope drilled an 850’ deepwater well on the property of Kimose Baptist Church in Kimose, Kenya. While we successfully found water, it‘s very deep and very hot (148 degrees). We have designed and specified a specialty, high-temperature pump system that will require solar electricity to power. The system will need multi-stage containers that will cool the water enough for human retrieval. This specialized system is the only way we will be able to meet the needs of the 2,000 plus people in this area.

Currently, the nearest water source is nearly 5 miles away which has caused a tremendous strain on the people living in this community; however, upon successful drilling, there is a restored hope that there will soon be a relief for this most basic need.
