What a joy it was to have our Ethiopian partner, Fidel Wataro, with us in November for our annual Benefit Dinner. So many of us were moved by his humility, his joy, and the way he lives out the gospel with such quiet courage. During his time with us, he spoke with pride and anticipation about returning home to welcome his new baby girl, Meba.

Just days after his return to Ethiopia, beautiful Meba was born, but with complications no parent ever expects. She was immediately admitted to the NICU with a serious heart condition, where she has remained for weeks under constant medical care. Fidel and his wife have stayed by her side every day, praying, waiting, and trusting God for her healing.

As you can imagine, this unexpected medical crisis has brought significant financial strain. The bills from Meba’s extended NICU stay are already overwhelming, and when she is finally strong enough to go home, she will continue to need ongoing medical care and specialized follow-up.

Many of you were deeply touched by Fidel’s ministry, his story, and his heart for reaching the unreached. Today, he needs us. We are inviting everyone who loves Fidel—or who simply feels moved by his family’s situation—to join us in easing this burden. Your gift will go directly toward her medical bills and the continuing care Meba will need in the months ahead.
